Description
Amazon Lily is a beautiful shade loving plant . The shiny dark green foliage is very attractive. Stems are leafless, to 12-18 inches long. Occasionally during the year, large, sweet scented white flowers will emerge. Three to four white, waxy, daffodil-like flowers with flared petals and a central cup to 3 inches across occur in a cluster of 3-6 are borne on a tall stem. Mature clumps can flower at different times of the year but more often it will flower in the spring.
Eucharis grandiflora, commonly known as the Amazon Lily, features fragrant white star-shaped blooms accompanied by glossy green leaves. Well-suited for containers and indoor garden spaces, it flowers from May to August in plains and June to September in hills. Planting is recommended between February and April in plains or March and May in hills.
Environment
The Amazon Lily will grow best in warmer tropical climates. It likes shade and sheltered areas. They are quite easy to grow. Just keep the soil slightly moist all the time. The bulbs will go dormant if the temperatures go near freezing.
