Environment
Divi Divi thrives best in well-draining sandy or loamy soil with a slightly acidic pH between 6.0 and 7.0. While it grows slowly, the tree benefits from ample watering during the active growing season. For optimal health, plant it in a location that receives at least eight hours of direct sunlight daily. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, Divi Divi begins flowering and producing seed pods between five and seven years of age. Young seedlings are sensitive to frost and dry, hot winds, so protection from these conditions is essential.
